Perhaps they will offer them for sale for 2000 USD and when people got their grid up and running they will increase the tier fees by 70 % after a few months, and then they will say, either you pay up or we will shut down the grid you bought from us.

Maybe you joined Second Life exactly when they messed up the Openspace prices.
However, they didn't say “we will shut down the grid” – they say “your region will cost more, pay or leave it”.
